To restore a file to its original location:

To restore a file to a new name and location:
<code>dsmc restore /home/user/my.file /home/user/dir1/my.file.renamed</code>
To restore a whole directory to its original location:
<code>dsmc restore /home/myhomedir/ -subdir=yes</code>
To display a list of active and inactive backup versions of files to pick from a specific directory:
<code>dsmc restore "/home/myhomedir/projectDir/*" -pick -inactive</code>
To restore a folder in a new location with inactive (from an old backup) files and replace existing files:
<code>dsmc restore /webdocs/normensdb/normen/pdf/ /webdocs/normensdb/normen/pdf_alt/ -subdir=yes -ina -replace=yes</code>
